Thermal
imaging for flat roof inspection is a cost effective
technique for evaluating the integrity of a wide
range of built-up roofs and for reducing the cost
of home maintenance and repair. The need for proper
maintenance begins before leaks are evident inside
the building since surface damage to the outer membrane
can cause water to be absorbed into sub-surface
layers. The retained water can result in major structural
deterioration near the leak location as well as
to healthy roofing areas. Through thermal roof inspection,
moist and dry areas can be identified. Infrared
imaging for roof inspection locates the areas where
retained moisture is trapped in subsurface insulation
allowing repair of only the damaged areas.
