LWIR
Infrared Cameras are probably the most prevalent thermal
imaging devices available today as a result of the
introduction of the uncooled microbolometer used to
produce a low-cost infrared detector having excellent
performance. In addition, LWIR cameras are available
that have remarkable sensitivity because of the use
of high quantum efficiency cooled detectors.
The
ATOM 320 combines state-of-the-art electronics
and uncooled infrared detector into the world’s
smallest thermal imaging module. Consuming less
than 0.8 W, and with a total volume of approximately
6 in3, the ATOM 320 high performance
thermal imager is ideal for integration into
hand held thermal imaging product and small unmanned
platforms. Available in both military and commercial
qualified models, the ATOM 320 delivers exceptional
image quality and includes a rich set of software
features and user interface options.

infrared imaging in the very long-wave (7-13
µm) spectral range. The SSC-320VL camera incorporates
a high sensitivity 320x256 format HgCdTe infrared
detector and is designed with a sealed, rugged
housing enabling a wide range of applications
including tracking, cold temperature work, target
signature radiometric data collection, high speed
imaging and infrared imaging spectroscopy.
Optical
Filters for Infrared Cameras
These
optical filters are perfect for many imaging
applications that benefit from blocking out-of-band
electromagnetic radiation while passing other
wavelength regions. These filters are normally
positioned in front of a camera’s objective lens
or between the camera’s lens and imaging sensor.
When positioned as such, the filters attenuate
(by reflection and absorption) out-of-band transmission
and transmit the desired spectral region. Constructed
of hard, durable coatings on optical-quality
substrates, these filters will withstand normal
cleaning and handling associated with any high
quality optical component. Custom filter wavelength
characteristics and sizes are available upon
request.
