Laser Beam Viewing and
Profiling

Many lasers used today produce emissions in the non-visible, infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. Consequently, it is useful to have devices that can detect the laser emissions permitting proper alignment and evaluation. For many applications, it is extremely important to know the cross-sectional profile of a laser beam. In this way, the power, energy density, modal structure and divergence of the laser can be determined. Infrared imagers offer an ideal method for analyzing laser beam profiles from 800 nm to 20 microns.

Objective Lenses for C-Mount Cameras

Objective Lenses for C-Mount Lenses

Electrophysics offers a wide range of lenses designed for 1" C-mount cameras and viewers. In general, the lenses feature manual focus and an integrated adjustable iris diaphragm. These lenses also feature broadband lens coatings making them ideal low cost solutions for imaging in the near-infrared spectral range with reduced flare and ghosting. A C-mount Extension Tube kit is also available for those applications requiring close focus and higher magnification. Also included are two quartz objective lenses that are suitable for imaging from UV through Near-IR range. These objective lenses perform well for monochromatic imaging in the noted spectral range. It is important to note that they are not chromatically corrected for the entire spectral range.

Optical Filters for Infrared Cameras

Optical Filters for IR Cameras

These optical filters are perfect for many imaging applications that benefit from blocking out-of-band electromagnetic radiation while passing other wavelength regions. These filters are normally positioned in front of a camera’s objective lens or between the camera’s lens and imaging sensor. When positioned as such, the filters attenuate (by reflection and absorption) out-of-band transmission and transmit the desired spectral region. Constructed of hard, durable coatings on optical-quality substrates, these filters will withstand normal cleaning and handling associated with any high quality optical component. Custom filter wavelength characteristics and sizes are available upon request.
