Electrophysics Introduces Uncooled Infrared Cores

Fairfield, NJ (August 28, 2008) – Electrophysics (www.electrophysics.com) announced the availability of the Eye-R series uncooled thermal camera cores available in mid (320x240 pixels) and large (640x480 pixels) format. The miniature Eye-R camera cores are designed to satisfy the demands of thermal imaging system OEMs looking for small size, low power, full mil spec environmental specifications, low cost and high performance. Applications include micro UAV, UGV vehicle payloads, hand-held thermal viewers, as well as cameras designed for fire service, security and industrial monitoring.

The Eye-R cores are fully customizable/programmable using powerful user-friendly interface software. Both analog and digital video are available as well as a large selection of infrared objective lenses having focal length as long as 210 mm.

The Eye-R series incorporate state-of-the-art 25 micron pixel microbolometer imaging arrays that operate without temperature stabilization, reducing power consumption and complexity. The cores include a unique high speed, ultra compact shutter mechanism. Proprietary non-uniformity image correction and contrast enhancement algorithms deliver outstanding image quality under all operating conditions. Additional video processing features include zoom, user programmable video overlays and user created on screen logo. Advanced features include in core image recording, motorized focus control and digital video output via USB 2.0 or LVDS.

The Eye-R series IR cores are built tough, qualified to Mil-Spec 810-E, and will operate in extreme ambient temperature conditions and backed by a two year warranty.
