Overview

Intensify your camcorder and video record images in darkness and vary low light. These Night Vision camcorder assemblies are based on AstroScope, a high-performance night vision module that transforms dark scenes (below 10-4 lux) into bright, high-resolution imagery. These assemblies are specifically designed for many fixed lens camcorders to produce high-quality video under very demanding conditions.

The heart of the AstroScope system is the Gen III Central Intensifier Unit (CIU). In addition, AstroScope's modular design enables you to expand your capabilities by allowing you to use the CIU with other night vision adapters specifically designed for other configuration including Canon and Nikon SLR cameras, removable-lens camcorders like the Canon XL2, and as a portable handheld scope.

Border Patrol
Due to increased security concerns, the commitment to secure a nation’s borders has become a priority. Night Vision technology is playing an increased role in shutting down illegal border crossings. Long-range thermal imaging solutions and wide area infrared illuminators combined with low-light monochromatic cameras can render a “line in the sand” impenetrable.

Electronic News Gathering
Major networks around the globe have been capturing images under the most extreme conditions. Imbedded news crews are required by their news directors to provide images day and nighttime. The AstroScope professional night vision modules for ENG cameras are available for 1/3”, ½” & 2/3” B3 & B4 mount cameras. In addition, there are night vision modules for Canon XL-1S and Sony PD150 professional camcorders.

Force Protection
Today, confronting terrorism dominates the headlines. The military’s response is to set up a secure perimeter and infrastructure at military installations. Thermal imaging technology provides detection at long range but cannot provide identification. Night vision technology and extreme low-light CCD cameras meet the requirement of identification while still operating in a covert manner.
